The revision of the 2016 Directive on network and information systems sets cybersecurity risks management and reporting obligations to companies, including companies in the HVACR sector. The proposal of the European Commission is now being examined and amended by the Council and the European Parliament.

The Cyber Resilience Act, which lays down rules on the cybersecurity of products with digital elements, was published on 20 November 2024. The public consultation on the technical description of important and critical products with digital elements will follow in 2025....
The Cyber Resilience Act, greenlighted by the European Parliament in March, is undergoing review by lawyer-linguists. The final publication is expected only after the summer recess.
On 19 July 2023, the European Parliament’s ITRE Committee adopted its report on the proposed EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which would introduce mandatory cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements.

Eurovent received a leaked version of the Commission’s proposal for a Cyber Resilience Act. The content might change by September 13, which is the official publication date of the proposal.
