GEN – 1463.00. The European Commission recently confirmed the Consultation Forum on Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of air conditioners and comfort fans, energy labelling of local space heaters and shared the Ecodesign draft regulation.
The European Commission has confirmed the Consultation Forum on Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of air conditioners and comfort fans, energy labelling of local space heaters (+ possible update on the Meerp review and critical raw materials) scheduled for 07 March 2023 and shared the preparatory documents.
The meeting, differently from what was originally planned, will be hybrid allowing for the physical participation of 2 people from each association, plus 3 online attendances.
Structure of the meeting
The meeting will be divided into different sessions, the morning will be dedicated to Ecodesign for air conditioners and comfort fans, while in the afternoon an update on the impacts of the different options regarding the Energy labelling of local space heaters, air conditioners and comfort fans will be given.
The final part of the meeting will be dedicated to the upcoming study on potential Ecodesign requirements on critical raw materials and to an update on the Meerp review finalization (point to be confirmed).
Preparatory documents
So far, the Commission has made available the draft Ecodesign text with its annexes to help the discussion during the Consultation Forum. No documents on Energy Labelling have been shared yet.

Interested Members are invited to carefully assess the preparatory document and send their comments to the secretariat to help develop the Eurovent position before the Consultation Forum.
