<p>In cooperation with Orgalim, the Eurovent Team regularly provides you with an in-depth overview on all European legislative developments of relevance for the HVACR sector. The Bulletin provides for a hands-on compendium allowing the industry to assess the status quo and expected future developments. In addition to recent sector specific issues, our Team has summarised some of the key takeaways within this article.</p>

<p>The Commission 2021 work programme is designed to make Europe healthier, fairer and more prosperous, while accelerating its long-term transformation into a greener economy, fit for the digital age. It sets out list of actions for the upcoming 12 months that fit with the political commitments.</p>

<p>The Commission has submitted to these acts to European Parliament and Council that have until 14 December 2020 to object to these acts. The Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) is an optional scheme introduced under Article 8(10) of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).</p>

<p>The European Commission has informed the stakeholders that the website related to the revision of the Methodology for Ecodesign of Energy-related Products (MEErP) has been launched. The revision process is expected to last until the end of 2021.</p>

<p>This Communication outlines the European Commission’s aims to at least double renovation rates in the next ten years and make sure renovations lead to higher energy and resource efficiency. Besides improving the quality of life for people, the strategy will reduce Europe's greenhouse gas emissions, foster digitalisation and improve the reuse and recycling of materials.</p>

<p>The European Commission (DG GROW) has contracted EY and Menon to conduct a study on the functions and effects of European standards and standardisation in the EU and EFTA Member States. The study aims to support the European Commission in assessing whether, and to which extent, the adoption of European standards has been beneficial for European consumers, firms and for the European economy as a whole.</p>

<p>In order to receive support from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, Member States must prepare national recovery and resilience plans setting out their reform and investment agendas until 2026, including targets, milestones and estimated costs. At least 37% of the plan’s allocation should support the green transition and at least 20% digital transformation.</p>

<p>The European Commission is working on an omnibus amendment to the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations published in 2019. The Draft Act amending several pieces of legislation in this field (only to correct minor technical issues) is open for feedback for 4 weeks. Feedback can be provided until 03 November 2020.</p>

<p>In order to prepare for Brexit, the UK government is inviting manufacturers to acquaint themselves with the campaign ‘Keep Business Moving’. It's dedicated website provides information on the actions EU businesses can take to continue trading smoothly with the UK at the end of the year.</p>

<p>The European Consultations start with a ‘Roadmap/Inception Impact Assessment’ followed by a ‘Public consultation’. The Roadmap looks for general comments of the interested persons and stakeholders. The Consultation is the second phase and consists of detailed questionnaires. The industry benefits from responding to these Consultations.</p>
