Overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities of relevance for the HVACR industry. Our Notifications allow members to be prepared for developments that can have an impact on them and their products.

The preparatory study on the revision of the Ventilation Units Regulations took place from March 2019 until September 2020. Meanwhile, the working documents with the draft texts of the regulations have become available. These will be discussed in the Consultation Forum meeting scheduled for 30 March 2021.

On 9 February 2021, the second EEPLIANT 3 Advisory Committee meeting took place, with about 50 participants. It followed the first meeting that took place on 12 December 2019 and informed stakeholders on the progress of the different Work Packages, including those for air conditioning, water heaters and residential ventilation units.

On 22 February 2021, the European Commission published its inception impact assessment. It outlines three options that would support the Renovation Wave and contribute to the EU’s 2030 and 2050 climate and energy objectives.

<p>The European Consultations start with a ‘Roadmap/Inception Impact Assessment’ followed by a ‘Public Consultation’. The Roadmap looks for general comments of the interested persons and stakeholders. The Consultation is the second phase and consists of detailed questionnaires. The industry benefits from responding to these Consultations.</p>

The second stakeholder meeting for the preparatory study of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Working Plan 2020-2024, initially scheduled for November 2020, will take place on 26 March 2021. Task Reports have been established for 13 possible new Product Groups. Among these, ‘Industrial smart sensors’ and ‘Swimming pool heaters’ could become of interest to Eurovent.
