New version of EPREL (UI: 1.44.0, Exchange model: 2.7.10) has been released in the PRODUCTION environment on Friday, 30 April 2021. New version of ACCEPTANCE (Software: 1.45.0) has been released on Monday, 10 May 2021.

<p>On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities and technical regulations of relevance for the HVACR industry. Our Notifications allow members to be prepared for developments that can have an impact on them and their products.</p>

<p>On 21 April, the European Commission adopted a proposal for a Regulation on machinery products. This Regulation would have the effect of repealing and replacing the so-called Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC). The proposal is open for feedback from the public until 5 July 2021.</p>

<p>The Commission has submitted the Roadmap for feedback within 4 weeks. After this period, a dedicated meeting of the Consultation Forum will be organised to discuss the preparation of the Working Plan. It is expected that the Working Plan could be published as a Communication in the third quarter of 2021. Of the possible new items listed two may be relevant to Eurovent: swimming pool heaters and industrial sensors. Relevant to all members will be horizontal measures relating to lightweight design, recycled content, ecological profile, durability, firmware and software, scarce and critical raw materials. While looking at the Working Plan, the consultation on the Sustainable Products Initiative should be kept in mind.</p>

The Briefing Paper announced in GEN – 1229.00 was released on Friday, 30 April. The 40-page paper provides the preliminary findings from the study to support the evaluation of the Regulation and lists initial possible policy options.

The review of the EPBD started with a Roadmap/Inception Impact Assessment that could be commented upon until 22 March 2021. Since then, a Public Consultation has been launched that runs until 22 June 2022. The Commission has also tasked the consultant Trinomics to gather stakeholder views through hosting stakeholder workshops.
