The revision fits within the current Ecodesign Framework Directive 2009/125. It is the first update since 2013 and, while not linked to the separate Sustainable Policy Initiative, the revision will look to update the environmental data sets for the EcoReportTool and consider the possibility to include material efficiency aspects and of environmental footprint/ecological profile aspects.

New version of EPREL (Software: 1.48.0 / Exchange model 2.7.11) has been released in the ACCEPTANCE environment on Friday, 18 June 2021 to let organisations perform testing and schedule necessary adaptations. The same version will be made available in the PRODUCTION environment from Friday, 25 June 2021.
