<p>After the formal release of the BACS final study on 14 October, the Commission is hosting a Consultation Forum on 15 November to present this study to be followed by a discussion. The possible adoption of the draft minutes of the Consultation Forum meeting on air-to-air conditioners and heat pumps, comfort fans and local space heaters is also part of the meeting.</p>
In 2019, DG Energy commissioned a study that should lead towards the development of a draft roadmap for the decarbonisation of heating and cooling. The draft roadmap should become available by the end of 2021.
The LIFE sub-programme Clean Energy Transition has issued a call for proposals that can qualify for grants. Three topics may be of interest to the HVACR industry. Around 30 partners are looking for collaboration to introduce a proposal by 12 January 2022.

<p>On 13 October, the European Commission provided an analysis of the recent sharp increase in energy prices and announced in a communication; the publishing of a Factsheet Toolbox for action and support that contains short and medium-term measures that can be implemented by the EU Member States to address the situation.</p>
<p>The European Commission has released the 2021 pocketbook consisting of data up to the year 2020. Whereas the first pocketbooks elaborated mainly on energy figures, the 2021 version also covers socio-economic indicators and the impact of the energy sector on the environment. The International Energy Agency has released on 13 October its annual World Energy Outlook in time for the COP26 meetings.</p>
