The co-legislators started trilogues on the Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR) in summer. Negotiations are progressing. The next trilogues is scheduled for 30 November.

After the trilogues of 6 June and 31 August, the latest negotiations on the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) on 12 October resulted in partial agreement. The next round is expected to conclude the file.

On 24 October 2024, the European Commission opened the public consultation on the draft act on the “Have Your Say” webpage. The draft Regulation is open for feedbacks for 4 weeks.

European Council and ENVI Committee published the compromise text of the new F-GAS Regulation. The text must be formally adopted by Parliament and Council before publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

A draft Regulation repealing Commission Regulation (EU) No 327/2011 was published on the 'Have your say' portal for feedback. The feedback period closes on 03 November 2023.

The Green Cooling Summit 2023 will take place on 10-11 October 2023, virtually. This year’s focus will be on Green Cooling along the Cold Chain, and all interested Members are invited.

The European Parliament and Council negotiators reached a provisional political agreement to phase down substances that cause global warming and deplete the ozone layer during the Trilogue on 05 October 2023.

France is developing a new ecolabel (called Ecobalyse) to calculate and display the environmental impacts of products. First product priorities include textiles and food. The methodology seems at least partly based on PEF.

The European Parliament’s lead committee on the Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Act – the ITRE Committee – has adopted and published its report. The Plenary vote is scheduled for 2 October.
