<p>The latest update of this report has been just published. It provides for some global insights that may prove relevant and useful in a number of the product areas covered by Eurovent. Of note is that IEA considers that China is now driving global energy efficiency progress and is making a significant mark on global energy markets.</p>

EEDAL 2017 – 13-17 September 2017, Irvine, California, USA (GEN – 713.00)

<p>In 2017 the International conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting (EEDAL) will take place for the first time outside Europe. Manufacturers who have a particular interest for the American market could make use of this conference to address a mixed public that also includes participants from other areas in the world.</p>

Notifications – Standardisation – August 2016 (GEN – 714.00)

<p>The application of the 2015/1535/EU (previously Directive 98/34/EC Directive) has also been extended to new standardisation work undertaken by National Standard Bodies (AENOR, AFNOR, DIN, UNI…) at national level. These notifications are registered centrally by the CEN Management Centre and a "Monthly Notifications Register" is circulated in English to the CEN Members and the European Commission. The National Standard Body generally provides the relevant associations with a copy of these updates.</p>

<p>The revised standard submitted to WTO on 5 September 2016 is identical to the one submitted in January 2016 and solely refers to ANSI/AHRI standards/testing methods.</p>

Consultation on EU framework of indicators for the environmental performance of buildings until 7th October 2016 (GEN – 707.00)

<p>The European Commission has started this project on resource efficiency in building in 2015. Since the Public Consultation started the Joint Research Centre (JRC) has published the technical background Working Paper 2 on indicators.</p>

Report Energy Transition of the EU Building Stock – Unleashing the 4th Industrial Revolution in Europe (GEN – 708.00)

<p>In earlier documents we pointed out the proliferation of national and European initiatives regarding resource efficiency, environmental product declarations and public consultations that are likely to influence the development of future legislation. The enclosed report suggests the first steps towards an improved coherence and governance structure at EU level. It provides ideas and thoughts that could be used in future in particular in relation to the renovation of EU building stock.</p>
