<p>This draft implementing act regulation establishes a common methodology for the calculation of the weight of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) placed on the national market in each Member State and a common methodology for the calculation of the quantity WEEE.</p>

<p>This document describes best environmental practices which can be implemented on a voluntary basis by companies to minimise the environmental impact of electrical and electronic equipment* manufacturing.</p>

<p>The application of the 2015/1535/EU (previously Directive 98/34/EC Directive) has also been extended to new standardisation work undertaken by National Standard Bodies (AENOR, AFNOR, DIN, UNI…) at national level. These notifications are registered centrally by the CEN Management Centre and a "Monthly Notifications Register" is circulated in English to the CEN Members and the European Commission. The National Standard Body generally provides the relevant associations with a copy of these updates.</p>

<p>This draft measure applies to all electronic displays (including “monitors”), which primary function is to display visual information. It also targets displays integrated into industrial machinery and other equipment.</p>

<p>The Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/2281 of 30 November 2016 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products, with regard to ecodesign requirements for air heating products, cooling products, high temperature process chillers and fan coil units has been published on 20 December 2016 in the Official Journal.</p>

<p>The Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament has asked for a for a study that looks at the interrelation between the Consumer Sales and Guarantee Directive (CSD) and the Ecodesign Directive. This study aims to assess how the legal guarantee of products could be coordinated with the notion of products’ expected lifetime.</p>

<p>Outdoor Air Quality. The revised Directive sets stricter national limits for the emissions of existing four pollutants: sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), volatile organic compounds (NMVOC), ammonia (NH3), and newly introduces limits for a fifth pollutant: fine particulates (less than 2.5 micrometres in diameter).</p>

<p>In 2012 it was decided to outsource some of the activities. The Orgalime partnership received the order for collecting and assembling the overall European developments.</p>

<p>The European Commission has launched a new database on the EU's building stock to monitor the energy performance of buildings across Europe. This Observatory has been designed to speed-up the EU's clean energy transition and will be accompanied by the proposal for a revised Energy Performance of Buildings.</p>

<p>On 30 November 2016, the Commission adopted the this package that includes a set of proposals that will be discussed in the Council and European Parliament in the coming months. The Regulation on air heating products, cooling products, high temperature process chillers and fan coil (ENER lot 21) has been adopted and can be expected to be published soon.</p>

<p>The European Union has produced an overview of support activities and projects on energy efficiency and renewable energy in the heating & cooling sector. Between 2011 and 2016 a total of 166 million Euro of EU funding has been allocated to research, demonstration and market uptake of energy efficient, low carbon and renewable heating and cooling solutions</p>
