Revised National Emissions Ceilings Directive (so-called NEC Directive) published in the Official Journal of the EU on 17 December 2016 (GEN – 737.00)

Outdoor Air Quality. The revised Directive sets stricter national limits for the emissions of existing four pollutants: sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), volatile organic compounds (NMVOC), ammonia (NH3), and newly introduces limits for a fifth pollutant: fine particulates (less than 2.5 micrometres in diameter).
