Eurovent joins the Indoor Air Quality Society
Brussels, 23 June 2026. Eurovent has joined the Indoor Air Quality Society (IAQS), strengthening cooperation between the European HVACR industry and the community of indoor air quality experts.
The membership supports Eurovent’s aim to place indoor air quality more firmly on the public health and policy agenda. The cooperation was confirmed following Eurovent’s Annual Meeting in Brussels.
IAQS aims to translate indoor air science into actions that improve indoor air quality and make millions of lives healthier, happier and longer. Eurovent aims to contribute to this mission, adding the perspective of the technology providers whose solutions make good indoor air achievable in practice.
Eurovent Deputy Secretary General mentioned that: “Buildings should provide healthy indoor environments, yet indoor air quality is still too often treated as a secondary issue in the building sector. As a result, health and well-being suffer, as the public health science clearly shows. IAQS plays an important role in bringing this evidence into the wider conversation on policy and practice. The goal: to make sure healthy indoor air becomes the norm in European buildings. Eurovent is joining IAQS to throw its weight behind this essential mission.”
Marianne Kemmer, CEO, Indoor Air Quality Society, added that: “The Indoor Air Quality Society is delighted to collaborate with Eurovent. Indoor air quality and HVACR systems are inseparable when it comes to creating healthy, comfortable, and sustainable indoor environments. By bringing together our respective expertise, we aim to strengthen dialogue, promote best practices, and support the uptake of innovative solutions that enhance both occupant well-being and building performance across Europe.”
Indoor air quality affects health, comfort, learning, productivity and resilience. Yet it remains less visible in policy and investment decisions than energy performance or outdoor air quality. Eurovent and IAQS will explore cooperation on awareness-raising, evidence development, policy engagement and practical initiatives to support healthier indoor environments in Europe.
