The European Parliament has defined legislative milestones on the European Commission’s twin legislative proposals on substantiating green claims and promoting repair, which were published on 22 March 2023.

<p>On 15 June 2023, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, presented the four priorities of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU.  Spain will be leading the Council of the EU from 1 July 2023 till 31 December 2023.</p>

<p>On 15 June 2023, the European Parliament’s ENVI Committee adopted its position on the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) with 68 votes in favour, 12 against and 8 abstentions.</p>

<p>On 15 June 2023, the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change published its report ‘Scientific advice for the determination of an EU-wide 2040 climate target and GHG budget for 2030-2050’.  It outlines possible pathways and related overarching policy choices.</p>

The European Commission has published the draft sustainability reporting standards, which supplement the Accounting Directive as amended by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. It is open for feedback until 7 July 2023.

At the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Consultation Forum held on 9 June 2023, stakeholders discussed the draft elements of the revised Regulation (EU) 327/2011.
