<p>Two weeks ago, many members may have received an email concerning the planned deployment of a BIM product database for the HVACR sector called PRODBIM. As our Team has received questions, this article aims to provide answers, supporting you in better understanding this initiative. </p>

<p>Pre-charged equipment exported outside the European Union is included in the quota system set up by F-Gas Regulation 2014/517. A consequence is that the quota available in Europe are reduced by those exported. Manufacturers of pre-charged equipment are looking for arguments to request a modification regarding quota reporting.</p>

<p>In May 2017, an exploratory meeting took place with Ronald Piers de Raveschoot, Policy Officer in charge of many Ecodesign files including the revision of the Fan Regulation 2011/327. At that time, it was indicated the review would start in September 2017. It now seems that the revision process is about to continue in February.</p>

<p>The first meeting with stakeholders on the scoping study took place on 17 January 2018. The aim is to define the product scope, identify focus areas and the direction to take for the subsequent preparatory study, and ultimately determine and draft policy options in line with the Ecodesign Directive.</p>

<p>On 30 March 2019, the United Kingdom will leave the European Union and then become a 'third country'. Subject to any transitional arrangement that may be contained in a possible withdrawal agreement, the European Union rules no longer apply to the United Kingdom. This will impact importers, authorised representatives and conformity assessment procedures. </p>

<p>In mid-2017, the Conference of Presidents, consisting of the President of Parliament and the chairmen of the political groups, authorised the setting up of a Committee to draw up a non-legislative report on Ecodesign.</p>

<p>The 10^th international conference on Improving Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings and Smart Communities (IEECB&SC’18) takes place in Frankfurt (Germany) from 21-22 March 2018, during the Light+Building trade fair. Compared to previous years, the focus is shifting to energy efficiency in various types of commercial buildings beyond the lighting aspects.</p>

<p>On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities and technical regulations of relevance for the HVACR industry. Our Notifications allow members to be prepare for developments that can have an impact on them and their products.</p>

<p>The exhibition ISK-SODEX Istanbul 2018 has confirmed that its Buyer Delegation Programme received the support of the Turkish Ministry of Economy and is going to be organised by the Turkish HVAC&R Exporters' Union (ISIB). In 2016, many Eurovent members made use of this opportunity and the various benefits offered.</p>

<p>Europe’s leading manufactures of Air Handling Units (AHUs) are currently developing a comprehensive methodology for Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis. The future Eurovent Recommendation is going to establish a new standard for LCC calculation on the market. The new methodology will contribute to a level-playing field for all manufacturers. It is going to provide a straight-forward and sound way to estimate the total costs related to AHUs throughout the entire lifespan of the system. </p>
