Eurovent elects New President and concludes 70th Annual Meeting
Brussels, 21 May 2026. The Eurovent Board of Directors has elected Mikael Börjesson as the new President of Eurovent during its 70th General Assembly held on 21 May in Brussels. Mikael succeeds outgoing President Raul Corredera Haener, who completed two consecutive three-year terms.
Raul Corredera Haener helped strengthen Eurovent’s advocacy presence at the European level and guided the association through a period of significant regulatory change and industry transformation. Under his leadership, Eurovent expanded its engagement with European institutions and reinforced collaboration across the HVACR value chain.
The new President, Mikael Börjesson, has been active in the HVAC industry since the early 1990s and has held a variety of technical, strategic, and leadership roles focused on building automation, ventilation, sustainability, and competence development. Currently, he serves as Director Future Solutions & Public Affairs at Swegon and has been a longstanding member of the Eurovent Board of Directors. He will conclude the remainder of Raul Corredera Haener’s current mandate.
After he was elected President, Mikael Börjesson stated: “It will be an honour to serve as President of Eurovent at a time when our industry stands at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and responsibility. Eurovent has long been a voice of expertise and collaboration across Europe and beyond. Together, we represent not just technologies, but solutions that improve lives, through better indoor climates, energy efficiency, and environmental leadership.”
The Board expressed its sincere gratitude to Raul Corredera Haener for his dedication and leadership and welcomed Mikael Börjesson as he assumes the presidency at a pivotal moment for the European HVACR industry. The Annual Meeting also saw the election of two new members to the Eurovent Board of Directors: Rafael Moral Gant, Director at Systemair Spain and Benoit Viard, Director of Operational Marketing, Communication and Brands at Carrier. Eurovent members reaffirmed their commitment to innovation, sustainability, energy efficiency, and continued cooperation in support of a competitive and future-oriented European HVACR sector.
The 70th Eurovent Annual Meeting brought together senior representatives from across Eurovent’s membership for two days of governance meetings, policy discussions, and networking. The programme included meetings of the Eurovent Board, Eurovent Commission and the General Assembly session. It featured a Policy Hour which focused on the major political, regulatory, and market developments shaping the future of the European HVACR sector. Discussions addressed the implementation of European Green Deal policies, implementation and market outlook regarding F-Gas legislation, energy efficiency requirements, digitalisation of building systems, and the general outlook of the HVACR market. Members also exchanged views on competitiveness, market surveillance, and the role of European manufacturing in supporting the continent’s sustainability and decarbonisation objectives.
