COVID-19 industry shutdown must exclude HVACR businesses

<p>Eurovent and REHVA call on all relevant authorities in the EU and globally to recognise the manufacturing, distribution, installation, maintenance and repair of HVACR equipment as essential business activities and therefore exempt them from COVID-19 shutdown orders and travel restrictions. HVACR equipment supports critical infrastructure in the healthcare, food cold chain, data centre and building sectors notably. Prolonged shutdown of HVACR manufacturing activities might have severe consequences during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.</p>

Eurovent to host expert seminar at EuroShop 2020

<p>Eurovent will host a seminar at EuroShop 2020 titled ‘European Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations for Commercial Refrigeration Equipment’ on 17 February 2020 from 14:00 to 16:30h in a meeting room at the CCD/Ost entrance, with the participation of the European Commission. The seminar will offer an introduction to the new Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements which enter into force next year.</p>

<p>The Eurovent Association has released the fourth edition of the widely-applied Eurovent Recommendation 4/21 – ‘Energy Efficiency Evaluation of air filters for general ventilation purposes’. The updated guidelines set out a new method for the determination of the annual energy consumption for filters operating at an airflow rate other than nominal.</p>

<p>Representatives of ISKID (Turkey’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers’ Association) and Eurovent signed an agreement to jointly organise the 2020 <strong>EUROVENT</strong>SUMMIT. They announced that the next edition of Europe’s major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 22 to 25 September 2020.</p>

Eurovent Certification introduces high ambient conditions to the VRF certification programme

Following a discussion with Eurovent Middle East members and participants of the VRF certification programme, Eurovent Certita Certification adopted the addition of high ambient temperature conditions to its certification programme for variable refrigerant flow systems. Tailormade for the Middle East market, products can now be certified to display their performance in hot or very hot climatic environments.

Eurovent Association sets path for the future in Braga

During their 62nd Annual Meeting hosted by EFRIARC (Portuguese association of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers), the Eurovent members have elected Naci Sahin (FRITERM, Turkey) for a second term as President of Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies. The General Assembly has furthermore adopted a new membership structure, which shall ensure the long-term sustainability of the Eurovent Association beyond the background of changing boundary conditions.

Eurovent publishes preliminary Position Papers concerning revision of EU Ecodesign Regulation on Ventilation Units

<p>The Eurovent Association’s Product Groups ‘Air Handling Units’ and ‘Residential Air Handling Units’ (covering non-residential and residential ventilation units respectively) have released Position Papers concerning the ongoing review of Commission Regulation (EU) No 1253/2014 (Ecodesign requirements for ventilation units). The papers include clarifications and amendments to the regulatory text, as well as in-depth suggestions for improvement concerning air filters, leakages, humidity recovery, control systems, labelling aspects, and many other issues of high relevance.</p>
