During the Eurovent Annual Meeting in Oslo, members have confirmed Mr Naci Sahin as their new President. The MD of the Turkish company FRITERM has been member of the Eurovent Board of Directors since 2011 and succeeds Alex Rasmussen. Sahin used to be President of Eurovent’s Turkish member association ISKID from 2013 to 2014 and has been playing a leading role in shaping the internationalisation of the Turkish HVACR industry over the past decades.

<p>Naci Sahin, General Manager of the Turkish manufacturer FRITERM and representative of the (Turkish) association ISKID, has succeeded Alex Rasmussen as President at the Eurovent Annual Meeting in Oslo. In an exclusive ClimaNovela interview, Eurovent’s Morten Schmelzer asks Naci about his agenda for the upcoming year, his industry priorities, personal life, and how it feels to be the first-ever Eurovent President from Turkey.</p>

In 2018, Eurovent entered the 60th year since the foundation of the association. During its ongoing Annual Meeting in Oslo, the industry federation has officially initiated its celebration year, which will be accompanied by a temporary corporate design change, dedicated articles and guest commentaries in the ClimaNovela newsletter, and a campaign called ‘#Sweet60’ on LinkedIn. The celebration months will be concluded with a 60th anniversary event for all members, partners, and friends at the Eurovent Summit in Seville on 27 September.

The registration portal and final programme of the Eurovent Summit are now online. The 2018 edition of Europe’s major gathering for key decision-makers in the area of Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies is going to take place from 25 to 28 September in Seville, Spain. It connects close to 500 industry leaders from Europe, the Middle East, Northern Africa, and international markets throughout around 40 seminars, meetings, and events. The Eurovent Summit again offers a unique side programme and experiences that go beyond the usual conference experience.

Following a formal approval by the Eurovent Board of Directors, ATREA s.r.o. has officially joined the Eurovent Association. During an official ceremony in Jakarta, the Eurovent Association has signed a partnership agreement with Indonesia’s leading HVACR exhibition: Refrigeration & HVAC Indonesia (26-28 September 2018, Jakarta International Expo). Through the continued partnership, Eurovent underlines its commitment to support and promote the use of energy efficient equipment in Southeast Asia’s largest country. The Association already supports the Indonesian government with the development of cold chain legislation and infrastructure.

The Eurovent Association has officially released the first edition of its long-awaited code of good practice Eurovent 4/23 (2017) on the “Selection of EN ISO 16890 rated air filter classes for general ventilation applications”. The publication is addressed to all HVAC professionals dealing with ventilation systems, particularly design consultants, facility managers and manufacturers of equipment incorporating air filters. It was jointly developed by participants of the Product Group ‘Air Filters’ (PG-FIL).

During their 18th ‘Autumn Seminar’ in Lisbon, EFRIARC, the Portuguese association of Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, has announced its membership in the Eurovent Association, which was previously approved by the Eurovent Commission. Effective as of 1 January 2018, more than 30 additional manufacturers are going to join the Eurovent family, further strengthening the association’s footprint within the global HVACR industry.

During their meeting of the Eurovent Association Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, members have elected Mr Martin Lenz (TROX GmbH, Germany) as their Chairman and Mr Andy Bijmans (Systemair B.V, Netherlands) as their Vice-Chairman. The two take on their positions from Mr Kees van Haperen (Rosenberg, Netherlands) and Mr Gunnar Berg (Swegon, Sweden). Van Haperen had been leading the Product Group since 2002. Both of them had been active participants since the 1990s and now decided to pass their Chairmanship on to a new generation.

During the meeting of the Eurovent Association Product Group ‘Energy Recovery Components’ in Brussels, Belgium, on 28 September 2017, members have elected Mr Peter Müller as their new Chairman, effective as of 1 January 2018. He is one of Europe’s leading experts in this field and Managing Partner at POLYBLOC AG (Switzerland) – a pioneer in advanced heat recovery systems, which has been producing heat exchangers since 1982.
