<p>The proposal for the revised Regulation on circulators resulting from the two-year review study will be discussed next week. During the meeting, the rules of procedure for Consultation Forum meetings will be discussed as well.</p>

<p>The project website for this Lot was launched in May 2019. The study itself should be finalised by March 2021. It is expected that the focus will lie with the refrigeration units that are fitted to the containers.</p>

<p>The IEA 4E 2018 Annual Report makes for interesting reading. It provides, amongst others, policy guidelines for motor-driven units such as fans, pumps and compressors. Within two pages, these guidelines summarise the activities and documents developed by the 4E Electric Motor System Annex (EMSA), which contains most useful information for manufacturers integrating electric motor systems. An upcoming activity will investigate the technological developments in the air conditioning industry, updating earlier reports from 2010-2011.</p>

<p>The EEPLIANT project, involving 20 Market Surveillance authorities, has received funding for a 3rd phase. Six additional products will be investigated, and these include air conditioners and comfort fans, ventilation units, water and local space heaters.</p>

<p>Morten Schmelzer, Executive Director of Eurovent, leaves the association effective as of 1 June 2019 after 6 successful years of serving Europe’s HVACR industry. He is going to join a member company while further developing his own IT business. Stijn Renneboog, who has recently joined the organisation, and Andrea Gasparova are going to take over the majority of Morten’s tasks.</p>

<p>The consultant Viegand Maagøe has handed over the final report on 15 May 2019. The file and next steps will now be handled by the Commission. At the request of air curtain manufacturers, air curtains were included and studied by the consultant. It was concluded that they are not used to heat spaces, but to separate the climate between spaces, and, as a result, should not be further considered for the revision of the Regulation.</p>

<p>On 16 May 2019, the consultants published revised minutes of the 26 April 2019 meeting, where the possible options of the Review Study of Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of Space and Water Heaters were presented. The objective was to receive feedback by 26 May from stakeholders in view of the final review report that will be provided to the Commission. Meanwhile, a separate study on third party conformity assessment of solid fuel fired space heaters and local space heaters was released too.</p>

<p>On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities and technical regulations of relevance for the HVACR industry. Our Notifications allow members to be prepared for developments that can have an impact on them and their products.</p>

<p>During the recent F-Gas Roundtable it was assumed that most illegal refrigerants relate to automotive air conditioning. The recent report by the Environmental Investigation Agency EIA shows that, according to customs declarations, the issue of illegal imports in Europe is more widespread than previously estimated.</p>

<p>This new version includes fixes to minor issues signalled by suppliers when uploading their product models in the database manually or using system-to-system communication. It also adds some new functionalities and cosmetic changes.</p>

<p>The Regulation 2019/661 provides details for the smooth functioning of the electronic registry for quota. It contains an update regarding refusal, suspension and cancellation of registrations to avoid abuse by beneficial owners that apply for quota.</p>
