Policy Updates

<p>Joint statement published on 15 June by ten European countries. The statement is published mid negotiations on key Fit-for-55 proposals, and in light of the increased ambition set by the European Commission.</p>

<p>On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities, technical regulations and legislative developments of relevance for the HVACR industry.</p>

<p>During its presidency, Czech Republic will focus on 5 closely linked areas: i) Managing the refugee crisis; ii) Energy security; iii) Strengthening Europe’s defence capabilities; iv) Strategic resilience of the European economy; and v) Resilience of democratic institutions.</p>

<p>Scenarios for this transition pathway will with time have an impact on the HVACR industry, through the introduction of Product Environment Footprints in the Ecodesign of Sustainable Product Regulation. </p>

<p>On 23 June 2022 the 2nd stakeholder meeting for the revision process of the MEErP will take place. The report and updated eco-report tool includes aspects of material efficiency and the environmental footprint. </p>

On 24 May 2022 the EEPLIANT 3 Advisory Board met for a third time to present an update on the various Work Packages. The project runs until November 2023 and deals among others with air conditioning and residential ventilation.

The call for evidence for the review of energy labelling requirements for local space heaters is open for feedback till 15 August 2022. The policy options include the possible merger of the energy labels for local space heaters and air-to-air heat pumps. The adoption of the revised regulation is expected for Q3 2023.

<p>From 23 May to 15 August 2022, feedback can be provided on the Impact Assessment. The assessment includes labelling proposals that extend to air-to-air heat pumps. The adoption of the revised regulation is expected for Q3 2023. </p>
