On 17 December, the European Commission published a package of legislative proposals and implementing acts related to CBAM, including the proposal to extend the scope to a large number of downstream products.
The Commission is working on a European Product Act. The goal is consistency across the full regulatory lifecycle, from pre-market to market placement to post-market. It will either be one single Act or 2 simultaneous legal Acts....
The CBAM Omnibus Simplification Regulation has been published in the EU Official Journal. It makes reporting and compliance for importers of CBAM goods easier.
The Omnibus IV aims to simplify the single market and reduce bureaucracy. The Commission aims to achieve this by reducing compliance costs for businesses and improving the clarity and coherence of EU rules and regulations.
The European Commission is working on a Single Market Strategy to further strengthen the EU internal market and prevent internal barriers and frictions, including several issues that affect the HVACR sector.
