Lennart Ostergaard, Managing Director at VELTEK, received the Legend of Eurovent award during the Eurovent Summit, in recognition of his leadership as the driving force behind the restructured Eurovent Commission.
Lennart Ostergaard has been part of Eurovent since 2018 and was elected Chairperson of the Eurovent Commission in 2021, subsequently re-elected in 2024. He also serves as a member of the Eurovent Board of Directors, General Assembly, and participant in various Working Groups. The Commission is one of Eurovent’s decision-making bodies, composed of staff members from Eurovent’s national Member Associations and supported by the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of the association.
As Director of VELTEK, Lennart Ostergaard leads an umbrella organisation that represents five associations within the Danish building technology sector. His work focuses on advancing ventilation, indoor climate, and energy efficiency, areas he considers essential to public health and sustainable development. Throughout his career, Lennart has been dedicated to improving air quality and indoor environmental conditions in homes, schools, offices, and public buildings. He views ventilation not merely as a technical solution, but as a vital contributor to well-being, productivity, and climate responsibility.
At the European level, he actively collaborates with organisations such as Eurovent and participates in CEN standardisation initiatives. He advocates for clear compliance frameworks, fair competition, and innovation, supporting member companies in navigating complex regulatory environments while aligning with best practices.
In his role, he works to unite a diverse range of stakeholders from manufacturers to policymakers and to ensure that VELTEK’s voice is represented in European discussions. He places great value on helping to shape standards and strategies that foster better indoor environments and smarter energy use across Europe. Lennart remains committed to promoting technologies and policies that make buildings healthier, more efficient, and better prepared for a sustainable future.
Upon receiving his award, Lennart stated: I’m truly honoured to receive the Eurovent Legends Award. It is a privilege to work alongside such skilled and dedicated Eurovent Staff, as well as the many associations and member companies that make up our community. The collaboration and shared commitment across Eurovent are what make this work so rewarding. Over the years, I believe we have made significant progress together. One area where this is especially clear is in our Eurovent Commission meetings. These meetings have evolved into much more engaging and productive sessions, focused, result-oriented, and genuinely interesting. That transformation is a testament to the professionalism and energy of everyone involved. I look forward to continuing this journey, building on our achievements, and driving meaningful progress in the field of ventilation, indoor climate, and beyond.”
