Eurovent has officially joined the ECO Platform as its newest member in a move towards greater sustainability in the construction and building sector. The membership aligns Eurovent with its commitment to climate action and resource efficiency.
The ECO Platform, a Europe-wide alliance promoting Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and life-cycle data for building products, welcomed Eurovent’s membership as a vital addition to its network. Eurovent brings together over 1,000 organisations from across Europe, representing manufacturers of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and building automation equipment.
Eurovent Deputy Secretary General Stijn Renneboog mentioned that: “As other industries in the construction ecosystem, manufacturers of HVACR equipment provide data on the environmental performance of their products. We are eager to join the ECO Platform to support our common mission to provide credible and reliable environmental data in an affordable and effective way, eliminating barriers to trade and pushing for harmonisation.”
The HVAC and building automation sectors have often faced challenges in conveying complex environmental performance metrics in a standardised and transparent way. With growing market and regulatory demands for energy-efficient and recyclable technologies, Eurovent’s engagement with the ECO Platform helps address this gap.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to transparency, environmental performance, and alignment with EU sustainability goals, especially those outlined under the EU Green Deal. By joining the ECO Platform, Eurovent aims to strengthen its members’ ability to deliver verified, comparable environmental data through EPDs.
