The 2014 Equipment for Potentially Explosive Atmospheres (ATEX) Directive defines the essential health and safety requirements and conformity assessment procedures, to be applied before equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmosphere can be placed on the EU market. It is applicable from 20 April 2016.

This covers the legal text of the 2014 Potentially Explosive Atmospheres (ATEX) Directive, as well as policies on standardisation and guidelines.
