The European Commission is replacing the current system of ‘New Approach (NA) consultants’ with the so-called ‘Harmonised Standards (HAS) consultants’. The HAS consultants’ role is to assess whether the standards drafted by CEN, CENELEC, ETSI comply with the European Commission requests as outlined in the relevant standardisation mandates.
